From brief to approved specification

How the Custom Packaging Process Works

A custom packaging project should move forward only after the structure, dimensions, quantity, artwork, insert needs, packing requirements, and destination have been reviewed. This page explains the information and decisions needed at each stage.

1. Project brief

Send the product type, preferred box style, approximate dimensions, quantity, artwork status, insert needs, destination, and reference images.

2. Specification review

Review the box construction, opening style, fit, material direction, branding area, presentation needs, and packing requirements together.

3. Quote scope

Project pricing, minimum quantity, proof or sample requirements, timing, packing, and shipping are confirmed only after the major specifications are understood.

4. Artwork & proof

Confirm the artwork file, placement, size, color direction, and approved production reference. A proof or sample requirement is defined for the specific project rather than promised universally.

5. Production readiness

Production should begin only after the commercial terms and approved specification are clear. The current approved version should be the reference for structure, appearance, insert, and packing checks.

6. Packing & shipping

Confirm carton packing, destination, available shipping method, cost, and timing for the reviewed order. Do not rely on an unconfirmed universal delivery promise.

What to check before approval

  • Structure, opening direction, dimensions, and product fit
  • Artwork placement, spelling, orientation, and color direction
  • Insert layout, product reveal, and removal experience
  • Exterior appearance, finish location, and presentation details
  • Order quantity, packing method, destination, and shipping scope
